What to do when your Machine arrives?
What to do when your new machine arrives.
(1) Check for any damage from shipping, Syil North America thoroughly tests ALL machines prior to shipping.
If any damage is present,
- Immediately take a photo and document any damages.
- Contact shipping company immediately.
- Contact Syil North America.
(3) Thoroughly clean off any packing grease, this grease is not a lubricant and the unit should not be turned on until all grease is off. During the testing of your machine Syil North America has cleaned off most of the packing grease to test the machine. This grease protects the machine from salt water air during the ocean shipping.
(4) Move the machine into your desired position. This can be easier said than done, put a lot of thought into how you are going to move and place the machine. We have found with the proper crane straps and an engine hoist this can make a difficult job an easy one, if you are unsure we always suggest hiring a professional!
If your machine is to be installed on top of a Syil stand, there are a few things to remember prior to moving the machine onto the stand, fix the stand into a permanent / semi permanent location using bolts, concrete screws ect., if this is not done you could destroy the machine during the move if the stand falls over. Not to mention this could kill you.
(5) Spend the time leveling the machine / stand, if the machine is on a counter top this is done with the leveling feet that came with the machine. Having a properly leveled machine will make a world of difference in the accuracy of your machine.
(6) Attach the computer, we strongly suggest not using a laptop. We also suggest using a add on parellel card, not a on board parellel card.
(7) Install Mach3 onto the computer and install the Syil Canada .xml file.
To install Syil Canada.xml file: Save to a default location, then cut and paste these into the Mach3 directory. The directory is located in “C” drive in the Mach folder. Do not paste in to any of the internal folders, just free space inside the directory.
You will see a program called Mach3 loader, the Syil Canada profile will show in that list, just select that profile.
(8) Turn on the machine.
(9) Disarm the estop button on the machine and click the reset button on Mach3.
(10) Presto, you should be up and running, if there is a communication problem between the computer and the machine (click here).
